Meet Our Founder

Kate Myers

Speaking of Animals Outreach is my lifelong dream come true. There are people who don’t know about the many concerns that affect our fellow animals. I began working for companion animals almost 50 years ago. My journey has taken me through personal transformations, but always I knew that if the animal concerns were “advertised” through media channels, people would know better and do better. To my despair, none of the national animal welfare organizations has ever attempted such a project.

I have worked in many capacities to care for animals – media outreach coordinator, animal services officer, community relations director, animal services and humane society CEO, and regional humane organization director.

I have written extensively about our fellow animals. My work began with companion animals and has now expanded to include all types of non-human animals. I studied psychology to know more about humans. This has helped me to meet people where they are and have compassion for humans as well as animals.

I’m getting closer to my end-time and more than ever, I want to engage people through visual storytelling about ways to improve the lives of the other animals we share the planet with and to tell the stories of animal survivors and the people who saved them.
